Colourful phonics and reading comprehension activities on laptops

Gain insight into your child's literacy learning

StepsWeb makes it easy to track your child’s literacy progress with automatically generated reports and real-time insights. This includes information which tells you:

  • Whether your learner has completed their weekly goals.
  • How many medals and certificates have been achieved.
  • Accuracy for reading/spelling, comprehension/language, and phonic skills.
  • Detailed logs, including every error made.

While StepsWeb is designed for self-directed learning, we recommend that parents monitor progress to quickly identify gaps and provide additional reinforcement if necessary.

Comprehensive Reports

1. Results on-demand

Generate detailed, comprehensive progress reports with a few clicks.

2. Diagnostic and actionable

Identify strengths and areas that need reinforcement quickly and effectively.

3. See how time is spent

Easily see whether your child is completing enough practice each week.

Create a feeling of success!

Give your child the motivation they need to succeed.

Positive reinforcement is crucial in keeping learners motivated, particularly for struggling learners who may have faced setbacks in the past.

StepsWeb rewards hard work with medals and certificates that recognise your child’s effort and achievements. You can further support this by printing and celebrating their certificates at home.

Diagnostic assessments

Identify challenges before they become roadblocks.

When your child first logs into StepsWeb, they will automatically take a Spelling Placement test. This will place them onto an appropriate level of the structured Course and will give you a current Spelling Age.

StepsWeb contains a number of diagnostic assessments which identifies a student's spelling age, reading fluency, or phonic knowledge. This ensures you have all the information you need to make informed decisions and tailor your child’s learning.

What parents say

StepsWeb is great!

My son is 9 and dyslexic. He uses StepsWeb every day, and the workbooks that go with it. It was recommended to us by a learning support teacher at his school. At times he finds it challenging but he is able to use it by himself now.

It is very well structured and organised. I can see that his writing and spelling are improving so it is well worth the price.

Great for dyslexia

My 14 year old daughter has dyslexia and we’ve tried a lot of different programs. Stepsweb is very engaging for her and because it changes to match her level, she is enjoying it.

Gold Medals

“My son has just started using StepsWeb at school.  He came home bubbling with excitement.  He can’t believe he’s earning gold medals – he was getting so demoralized before!  Now he keeps wanting to go onto the programme again to upgrade medals so they’re all gold!”
